Day 2: December 4, 2007

The final snow tally was about 16-18 inches. We are still getting some off and on snow showers but the accumulating snow has ended.. for now..

Today was a pretty brutal day on the mountain. The winds were gusting around 50 MPH, combined that with temps in the teens and you've got a nasty wind chill.

I had the mountain to myself but only really skied for a couple hours, and made the majority of my runs on 'World Cup" as it is shielded from the wind a bit better than many of the other trails.

The skiing itself was pretty good and for the most part the wind was at my back when skiing but the lift rides were brutal. Many of the mountains in this region had wind holds today but Okemo seems to avoid most wind holds as most of their lifts run through the trees, but even with that, the cold was very penetrating. You could not leave any skin exposed.

The winds are supposed to die down this evening so tomorrow should be the best day of the week.
